Monday, April 4th - Fort Lauderdale

We were all up at 6:30 am which was in time to see our entrance into the Fort Lauderdale harbour and our 7:00 am arrival at the cruise terminal. Down for breakfast at the Horizons Buffet, then into the Discovery Lounge to await our call to disembark.

We got the nod at nine and exited the ship for the last time. Finding and claiming our luggage in the terminal hall was a bit of a challenge but we did manage to round it all up.  Got through customs with no issues.

From there it was onto the bus for the 15 minute transfer to the airport. Once there we said our goodbyes to our cruise buddies. They were flying home from there, while Lee and I were renting a car and driving to Key West to attend a conference for the rest of the week.

Great holiday, great cruise and great cruise buddies! And now a final comment about Princess Cruises and the Coral Princess. We didn't really know what to expect from Princess but they exceeded all our expectations by a wide margin. The ship was very well maintained and clean.  The crew were always courteous, helpful and smiling. The staterooms were a bit small but our balconies were big enough to comfortably accommodate 4 deck chairs so overall we had lots of room. Cabin service was excellent and we lacked for nothing throughout the cruise.

For meals the buffet was what you'd expect from a buffet except for the omelette station which was quite good. However, the dining room and its service were the best. And all our excursions went without a hitch. Overall, I'd have to rate our experience with Princess at four and a half stars. I would have given them five stars if the slots in the casino had been a little looser but you can't have everything.

Hope you enjoyed sharing our cruise with us!
